We
had some time to ourselves and so people visited, went for walks
and talked about all of the information that we'd taken in.
We were also pretty hungry and so everyone was ready when the
dinner bell rang. Ann and her crew laid out an amazing spread
-- moose stew, two types of warm bannock and angel food cake
with whipped cream and cherries -- Yummmm! Eddie Meekis really
enjoyed his meal. |

The
food gave us the strength to carry on and participate in the
last videoconference of the day. Ed Hoshizaki, K-Net's consultant
for the broadband study came in from Washington, D.C. He talked
about the way that people in the First Nations had identified
many telecommunications uses COMMUNITY
CONSULTATION REPORT. |
|
Ed
kindly took a few jokes and shared his own humour with everyone.
He talked about the shared network and the different types of
services it could carry (see KO Network Discussion paper). He
also discussed the financial and technical considerations that
his report would describe. Ed said that he was working with
people in government agencies and telecommunications companies
to determine the best options for the K-Net broadband network.
We all packed it in about 8:00 pm. |
